The Recon Score (RS) is a weighted intelligence model designed to rank waypoint quality using multiple performance indicators β€” not guesswork.

Each waypoint is evaluated using:

  • Intel Strength (Iβ‚›) β€” Species indicators, wreck/spring keywords, and catch notes.

  • Uniqueness Coefficient (U𝚌) β€” Inverse cluster density weighting to highlight less-saturated, higher-value structure.

  • Age Factor (Aβ‚œ) β€” Recency decay adjustment that accounts for how marine environments change over time.

  • Proximity to Depth Change (P𝑑) β€” Measured relationship to bottom relief, contour breaks, and structure transitions.

  • Duplicate Penalty (Dβ‚“) β€” Reduces redundancy from overlapping or repeated data.

These components are multiplied by calibrated weighting factors and combined into a single Recon Score. Redundant data is penalized to ensure cleaner, higher-confidence outputs.

Typical high-confidence structure scores fall in the 0–25+ range.

The result is a refined, data-driven ranking system designed to surface the strongest offshore structure opportunities from massive waypoint datasets.
